Overview

Freightliner Northwest's Estimator/Repair Consultant position is key to our efforts for excellent customer service and accurate repair estimates. The role works with our Service Account Managers, our Shop Management and our Technicians to provide thorough and accurate information to the Service team to ensure we meet customer needs and expectations.

Responsibilities

Job Summary
• Evaluate the information provided by the customer via the Service Account Manager (SAM) and Shop Manager to determine the estimated cost of services.
• Estimate and document costs in a clear manner; provide information in a timely fashion to team members; Update estimates with most accurate information.
• Communicate with the customer/driver on the status of repair when needed
• As needed, assist in opening and closing of repair orders in accordance with estimate, enter other work needed, check for warranty coverage, and utilizing appropriate systems.
• Use good judgment to maintain a safe and organized work environment, in accordance with company procedures.
• Ability to evaluate, describe and translate additional unforeseen work and costs to the SAM and/or customer.
• Other duties assigned as business needs require.
• Inspect and monitor work areas to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
• Works to achieve efficient and effective transitions with other teams. Coordinates directly with the Shop Manager for support on weekends and/or swing shifts.
• Work directly with Technicians on coordination of repairs as needed.
• Provide back up support for Support Shift SAM as needed. Such duties could include opening and closing repair orders, writing and reviewing estimates, calling customers with updates and repair approval.
• Keep accurate and up to date notes on all work and update day staff to ensure smooth transitions.
• Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards.
• Maintain a departmental company team attitude with all employees; with a heavy emphasis on safety, service and sustainability.

Qualifications

Job Requirements
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Previous Estimator, Service Advisory, Technician or Foreman experience preferred or One year or more related experience in a repair facility. Technical knowledge of heavy-duty vehicles required. Previous customer service experience required.
Skills: Must be professional and safety minded at all times. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as active listening skills. Exceptional customer service, time management and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Able to work with minimal supervision and direction. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

 

Additional Information
Physical: (These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.) Requires sitting, standing, keyboard and tablet usage, walking, talking, and fine motor skills. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Climbing into and around heavy-duty vehicles. Extensive use of telephone and computer programs.

Environmental: Indoors with occasional outdoor duties. Occasional transport of documents between buildings in seasonal weather conditions. Some noise while visiting other departments. Hours: Monday - Friday, 7AM-4PM

Compensation:  $65,000 - $70,000 annual salary determined upon level of experience.
