Overview

Freightliner Northwest is looking for a candidate to join our Outside Parts and Service sales team in Hermiston, OR. The Parts & Service Outside Sales Representative is responsible for providing the parts needs of wholesale and fleet customers in the customer’s place of business, in addition to promoting service available through our service department.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

  • Become a reliable and trusted business source for your customers, insuring a positive reception for future solicitation calls.
  • Getting to know the customer, the customer's business and the needs of that business.
  • Responding to customer parts/service or information requests quickly.
  • Identify sales opportunities, prospect for new business and sell additional parts and service to customers.
  • Address the customers parts and service needs, respond to information inquiries.
  • Providing parts to customers from stock, procuring locally or creating a parts order as directed.
  • Identifying customer needs and opportunities that will produce additional sales.
  • Prospecting for new Parts & Service Department customers through phone solicitation.
  • The use of structured presentations of new items or services during solicitation phone calls.
  • Support activities for dealership customer satisfaction and concern resolution programs.
  • The support of at customer inventory or other sales and marketing programs.
  • Other duties as business needs require.

Qualifications

Education: Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Experience: 2-4+ years of experienced in parts sales. Experience with heavy duty truck parts required. Experience with customer needs assessment and satisfaction, knowledge of methods for showing as well as promoting and selling products or services.

Skills: Knowledge of heavy duty truck parts and equipment. Must be professional and safety minded at all times. Dependable, motivated and a quick learner. Excellent communication both verbal and written, listening skills. Good customer service skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Able to work with minimal supervision and direction.

Other: Must have valid driver’s license and insurable and be able to support and sustain daily vehicle travel requirements.

 

Job Conditions

Requires standing, bending, stretching, use of a telephone and manipulating a computer keyboard. Some heavy lifting.

Environmental Demands: Indoor and outdoor work. Some noise while working around operation departments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.    

Hours: Monday - Friday 8AM to 5PM

Compensation: Salary + incentive

Additional Information: Gordon Truck Centers operates many 24/7 facilities and off-hour shifts may be required occasionally or for special events.
