Overview

Gordon Truck Centers, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified and motivated CDL driver and maintenance worker to join our team in our Medford, OR Freightliner & Western Star Northwest location. The ideal candidate will have a current CDL with minimum required endorsements: trailer. This position is part-time benefits eligible, with hours ranging between 25 hours and 40 hours in a typical week.

 

Helping customers satisfy their transportation needs since 1986, GTC is an expanded network of 19 dealerships doing business as Freightliner Northwest, Western Star Northwest, TrailerCraft and Freightliner of Hawaii. Responsibilities

Job Summary

  • Pick up and deliver customer vehicles to and from their place of business within the specified regional area.
  • Knowledge of all laws and regulations as they pertain to transporting commercial vehicles.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate customers concerns and needs in an honest and professional manner to service advisors.
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to take the initiative, able and willing to work with limited supervision.
  • Must have flexibility with schedules as some extended work hours may be required depending on the business need.
  • Must be able to drive automatic and manual transmissions
  • Ensure outside of the facility remains clean and orderly.
  • Sweeping walkways around building, emptying trash cans on property and removing debris.
  • Monitoring and ensuring pallets and cardboard are picked up and receptacles are in good order.
  • Perform seasonal tasks such as sweeping walkways, spreading ice melt, removing snow, etc.
  • Performs touch up and finish painting when needed.
  • Picks up and delivers supplies and materials for building maintenance.
  • Makes minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs.
  • Uses hand tools and power tools in making minor maintenance repairs.
  • Utilize forklifts as needed.
  • Use good judgment to maintain a safe & organized work environment; adhere to company safety policies.
  • Accept ownership for accomplishing new & different requests.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Must have valid CDL driver’s license and be insurable with a clean driving record. 3 years commercial over the road experience.

Qualifications: Must be dependable and reliable. Must be  professional and safety minded at all times. Excellent communication both verbal and written, listening skills. Good customer service skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Able to work with minimal supervision and direction. Must adhere to all DOT regulations.

 

 

Job Conditions

Physical Demands: (These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.)  Safely walk, reach, bend, climb, lift, reach, push, twist, repetitive hand motion, squat and kneel as necessary to perform the essential job duties.  Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time.

Environmental Demands: This position operates in all types of indoor and outdoor work environments, including inclement weather. Noise level is mild to moderate, which are normal for outdoor work. Personal protective equipment, including ear and eye protection, should be used and will be provided.

Dash Camera: For insurability and safety purposes, GTC uses front and rear facing dash cameras in all company vehicles. 

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
